3...2...1...BLAST-OFF!!! St. Joseph School is officially in session for the 2017-2018 school year and we are loving our out-of-this-world view of what’s to come this year! I am a tale-telling teacher from SJS and I am happy to be back this year, writing this article! My hope for the next year is to deliver SJS news to our supportive community, keeping you all in the know of the goings-on inside the walls of our beloved SJS!
August ninth certainly came early, but gosh are we excited about kicking off this school year. All of our teachers are eager to practice our mission statement daily, teaching the children of God to walk in the footsteps of Christ, while stressing the total development of the child, spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. Speaking of teachers, we have lots of formal ‘Welcomes’ to say!!! We have added two new teachers to our staff this year, as well as two cafeteria ladies! We welcome Ms. Amy Malik to the First Grade classroom, Mr. Anthony Harper (Coach Harper) to our Athletic program as our Athletic Director, Mrs. Frances Barrera as our Cafeteria Manager and Mrs. Susan Hermes as our Cafeteria Aide. It’s so exciting to see our school moving in huge directions of growth in these two areas!
Yesterday SJS celebrated the Assumption of Mary. I know I always say it, but here it is again… WOW! The teachers at SJS are in constant awe of the witness we get to be, watching these students experience God and their faith. I think I speak for the entire SJS staff when I say, “We are so blessed to work with such amazing students and families.”
School reminders, rules and policies have been sent home in Friday Folders, placed on the school website and phoned out through school messenger. Please be mindful of the one-way rule on Orth Street and stay off cell phones in a school zone… unless you want tickets! AND, don’t forget, pick-up line starts at 3:35!
Thanks for tuning in to this first article of the 2017-2018 Tiger Tales and thanks for all of the prayers and support for the next 10 months! Love and Blessings on all of our Yoakumites and and all of our families and friends!
