The count-down is on! Every morning our SJS students remind us that we only have 18 days left… Us teachers panic, as there is always still so much to learn! The students are rejoicing with the thought of summer days being just around the corner. Parents are scrambling to make summer plans of babysitters and vacations and stocking refrigerators. And in the blink of an eye it will be time to begin a new school year.
This morning we began our Mass celebration by honoring Mary, Mother of God, with flowers and crowning her with roses. It is always such a beautiful Mass to share with our students. Thursday will follow with 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration - all are welcome to come sit in the presence and peace of our Lord.
On behalf of the SJS faculty and staff, we want to thank our SJS PTC!!! You have all made us feel so appreciated all year! This week, you all have gone above and beyond to spoil us for Teacher Appreciation week and we cannot thank you all enough for all that you do for us and the students and the school.
Friday, SJS has early release at 1 pm. And make plans to attend our NJHS Induction ceremony next week after Wednesday Mass on May 10. Congratulations to all of our current NJHS students and to all our new inductees. Also, plan ahead to join us on Saturday, May 13, at 5 pm Mass for our SJS First Communion. The 2nd grade students have worked hard this year to learn prayers, sacraments, 10 commandments, parts and meanings of the Mass, examining conscience, reconciliation format and proper communion etiquette. We are very proud of their knowledge and accomplishments this year and look forward to being in communion with each of them as their faith journey continues.
