This year's football season has been a unique experience for the Tigers, as we ventured into the world of 6-man football. A few of our 8th grade athletes had some thoughts on this year:
"We have won all of our games. We have good coaches - Coach Harper and Coach Kloesel. We have been practicing very hard. Football is fun - it is 6-man football but it's been alright. Our football team has been great this year." -Erik Gonzalez
"The SJS Football team is having a great season. Of the games we have played, so far, we have won them all. We have great support from our cheerleaders and parents who come and cheer us on. Anyone can come to our games so if you're in the mood to come watch some 6-man football, come watch the Tigers." -Trey Olivares
"Football practice has been hard, but we have been doing good with all wins. We have a good and enthusiastic coach that encourages us, saying, 'Get the move on!" Coach Harper is the best coach ever and he is very nice to us. Coach Kloesel is also the best coach ever - he is and awesome defense coach and he has good plays." -Cody Thamm
"We have had a good football season this year with all wins. Coach Harper is a good football coach. Our football practices are hard and fun at the same time. Six-man football is a lot of fun and isn't as hard as 11-man football." -Ben Schultz
"We have not lost a game. Part of the reason we win is because we have good coaches. The head coach is Coach Harper and the assistant coach is Coach Kloesel. We work hard at practice so we will be ready for the games. We have great team work and sportsman-like conduct; we always offer a hand to whoever is on the ground." -AJ Adamek
